Let’s face it, Twitch is great… until it isn’t. So what happens if you take everything that works, scrap the stuff that doesn’t, and make something with actual personality? Enter RespawnXP — my vision for a streaming platform that puts creators and community at the center, minus all the corporate bloat and tired UI patterns.
The Vision
I wanted to build a platform where streamers aren’t buried under a thousand generic thumbnails and viewers can actually find new favourites. The vibe is bold, dark, and just a little bit “gamer goth” — but still clean enough that your nan could use it (if your nan loves Warzone).
Tools I Used
- Figma: For fast iteration and that buttery-smooth component building.
- Photoshop: For all the image touch-ups, overlays, and the kind of polish you can’t fake.
Key Features and Highlights
- Featured Creators section right up top — no endless scrolling to find the good stuff. If you’re crushing it, you’re in the spotlight.
- Dynamic Category Carousels: Warzone, Fortnite, “Hidden Gems” — everything’s easy to browse and never feels like you’re lost in the noise.
- Partner Profiles: Big, punchy profiles for standout streamers. I wanted these to actually sell a personality, not just list the last ten games played.
- Trending and Hidden Gems: A blend of what’s hot and what’s under-the-radar. No more “recommended channels” that feel like they were picked by a bored algorithm.
- Strong Use of Color and Contrast: Keeps it readable, modern, and just the right amount of edgy.
- Footer Links That Actually Make Sense: No mystery meat navigation here — find what you want, fast.
The Process
This concept was about pushing personality while keeping usability rock solid. I sketched out rough flows in Figma, built modular components, and made sure everything scales from “full rig” desktop to a quick phone check on the bus. UI elements are intentionally bold and readable; nobody’s got time to squint at 10pt grey-on-grey text.
The Attitude
RespawnXP is unapologetically community-first. Less “corporate streaming farm,” more “digital home base for weirdos, warlords, and everyone in between.” If you’re tired of platforms that feel like they were designed by accountants, you’ll get why I made this.
Tools: Figma, Photoshop
Vibe: Bold, modern, unapologetically gamer
